Review: Cologne Startup Summer Night
On September 1st, the Cologne Startup Summer Night took place in Stadtgarten in Cologne. We celebrated together with numerous guests.
As part of the Cologne Startup Summer Night, ten Cologne-based entrepreneurs had the opportunity to present themselves and their startups to the expert audience. The Cologne Startup Summer Night 2023 was launched through a collaborative effort involving KölnBusiness, the city’s economic development agency, Web de Cologne, and the “Fit for Invest” program by the Gateway Hochschulen Köln. More than 300 participants gathered in the picturesque Cologne Stadtgarten. Serving as a pioneering event in the startup scene of the Rhineland, the Cologne Startup Summer Night acted as a platform for networking and bringing together the Cologne startup ecosystem.
“Cologne is a favorable location for startups – it’s enjoyable to establish businesses here. We, the Gateway Hochschulen Köln, are co-hosting the Cologne Startup Summer Night because, in collaboration with our partners within the Cologne ecosystem, we are actively working to make Cologne one of the top destinations for startups,” stated Prof. Dr. Kai Thürbach in his welcoming address.
Under the umbrella of “Fit for Invest,” the four prestigious universities in Cologne, in collaboration with the Gateway Gründungsnetz e.V., consolidate their individual strengths. The label “Gateway” represents the close collaboration between the Technical University of Cologne, the University of Cologne with the Gateway Excellence Start-up Center, the German Sport University Cologne, and the Cologne University of Applied Sciences. This year, the Gateway Hochschulen Köln also established a joint support association aimed at bolstering the activities of the Gateway Gründungsservices and enhancing the entrepreneurial environment in Cologne. In partnership with organizations such as KölnBusiness, “Fit for Invest” successfully organizes various events and formats, including the Cologne Masterclass and the Cologne Investors Evening.
