University President Prof. Dr. Tobias Engelsleben on the current challenges of the corona crisis

With the increasing number of infections in the corona pandemic, the demands on us as a university are also increasing. We take the situation very seriously and respond with all necessary measures, wherever and whenever necessary, in accordance with the specifications of the state authorities. Because the health of everyone – yours and that of the university staff* – must come first. As a university, we bear a great responsibility for this.

It is now more important than ever: Please follow the rules of hygiene and distance. This is absolutely necessary so that we can keep the university running as smoothly as possible and so that everyone can feel safe at the university.

As an educational institution, we are well equipped to deal with the current challenges. We are in close contact with the health and public order offices at all locations and always update the local hygiene concepts according to the official requirements.

At some locations, masks are now mandatory in all courses and, at the request of many students and teachers, we are now increasingly offering online-based teaching again. If the pandemic continues to worsen, we will also offer more digital teaching at other locations.

We thank you for your cooperation in complying with and implementing the protective measures, but also for your understanding that the university has to adjust to changing requirements almost every day, which cannot remain without effects on the course of studies.
