RETHINK – ENVIRONMENT DAY

RETHINK – INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE ENVIRONMENT AT THE FRESENIUS UNIVERSITY

5 June was World Environment Day, launched by the United Nations.

The Fresenius University of Applied Sciences also wanted to use this day to advocate a more climate-friendly life for the benefit of our planet. To this end, it collected lectures, tutorials and projects from students, teachers and employees for more sustainable living, consumption and studying.

THE GREEN OFFICE OF THE FRESENIUS UNIVERSITY

“Our goal is to develop a forward-looking and prudent university that cares for its environment and learns how this is compatible with economic progress.”

The Green Office is a student initiative for sustainability, which acts as a link between the students and the university. The aim is to create a more sustainable living space that students are happy to work for and in which innovative ideas on the environment, economy and social issues are taught and lived.

The Green Office aims to achieve these goals by carrying out projects on campus, disseminating sustainable ideas in the community, working for more sustainability in teaching and, in the long term, by organizing and participating in sustainable research.

We live sustainability holistically – on campus, in teaching and in research!
As an educational institution, the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences serves as a role model. That’s why we set ourselves the goal of integrating the three pillars of sustainability – ecology, economy and social justice – into teaching and research and implementing them at all our locations. In our five departments, we deal with important aspects and questions of the future in an interdisciplinary manner, such as the effects of globalization, climate change, technical evolution or demographic change.

Our mission: We strive to make a contribution to the sustainable development of our society. With our innovative courses of study with environmental relevance and modules, we offer our students the opportunity to think and live sustainability far-sightedly in all decisions and activities in their future positions.
