As early as 2015, the Cologne Wissenschaftsrunde reported on the first event in this series:

As before, fewer women than men dare to start a business. Many different theses are put forward: “Women are more cautious”, “Women would rather start a family. Starting a business does not fit into family planning.” The Fresenius University of Applied Sciences is pursuing these theses as part of the 2015 theme year. In a panel discussion, successful female entrepreneurs report on their business ideas and experiences. From the idea to planning and concrete implementation: In subsequent workshops, our experts support women in setting up their own businesses. Idea sketch, figures and business plan – bring what you have with you – we will be happy to check your documents and advise you.

18:00 – 19:30 Panel discussions:

“Are women more cautious when setting up a business? – Chances and hurdles of starting a business”.

Prof. R. Geibel and the successful business founders Phillis Maaß, Glück & Glanz, and Martina Töpfer, Coaching & Organisation Consulting, report on their business ideas and experiences.

19:30 – 20.30 Workshops: 

I. “Vision or crazy idea? Does my founding idea have a chance of success?” Prof. R. Geibel, Dean of Studies of the Master’s programme “Digital Management”, will give assessments of your founding ideas.

II. “Cost, profitability, liquidity plan and capital requirements: What will all this cost?”

Prof. M. Sure, university lecturer, will guide you through the jungle of figures.

III. Business plan: How do I put my business idea into practice?

Prof. D. Große Holtforth, Professor of Business Administration and Media Management, shows you what you need to consider.

IV. Press and public relations: Who is my target group?

How do I address them? How does the public find out about my company? The press spokeswomen at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences will give you tips on public relations.
